About Me

A little about me

I am a data science graduate currently residing in Brooklyn, NY. My backgroud is in economics, statistics, and machine learning. I was born in Gwalior, a small city in central India. I then relocated to Florida for some early-middle schooling before returning to India for high school, where I attended Choithram International and the wonderful Mahindra United World College.

I returned to the US for undergraduate studies at Oberlin College where I majored in mathematical economics and political science. Following my experience at Oberlin I returned to India to work at the Abdul Lateef Jameel Poverty Action Lab (JPAL) for two years, conducting economic research and randomised control trials. At JPAL, I primarily worked on social networks projects, and my tasks ranged from data analaysis and research design, to personnel hiring/training/managing, field management, and even helping write academic papers.

In early 2017 it became clear to me that I had an affection for data analysis and leveraging models to inform decision making. I thus deicded to pursue a masters degree at Columbia University where I focused on applied statistics and data science. Whilst expanding my skill set, I continued doing research with professors at the Columbia Business School and the School of International and Public Affairs. I grew an interest in machine learning broadly, with a particular focus on Bayesian models and representation learning (Reccomender systems, Deep Learning). I am currently in search of a data science role that is both intellectually and professionally rewarding.

I enjoy watching and playing football (soccer), solving interesting mathematical problems, reading, and experimenting with craft beer.
